Vállalat (Danubius Hotel and Spa Company), was established in 1972, as an owner of Grand Hotel Margitsziget, Hotels Helikon Keszthely and the building permits for Hotel Hilton Budapest. In 1999 Danubius itself becomes a holding company and operates a Property Company (Hungaria Hotel and Property Rt.) and a Management Company (Danubius Hotel Management and Service Rt.). The main focus of the Danubius Group, owner of the biggest Hungarian hotel chain (Danubius has more 15% from the Hungarian Hotel Capacity), is the operation of thermal spa hotels. In order to counterbalance the growing competition in the Hungarian hotel business, the company is being expanded abroad.
