Güglingen, 23 July 2024 – The solar specialist hep solar is making good progress with its solar projects in America: The Perendale solar project in Mocksville, North Carolina, has been completed. In addition, preparations for the two parks Dill and McDowell, also located in North Carolina, are going according to plan. Construction of both projects is expected to begin in September. The Perendale solar park, a project managed by hep Kapitalverwaltungsgesellschaft (KVG), has recently been completed and has been connected to the power grid on a trial basis. Almost 18,200 modules will have a future capacity of around 9.8 MWp (DC). The customer for the electricity produced will be Energy United, a large electricity cooperative in North Carolina. Preparations on schedule at the Dill and McDowell solar parks  Also located in the Piedmont region of North Carolina are the solar parks Dill with a capacity of around 13.3 MWp (DC) and McDowell with a capacity of around 2.5 MWp (DC). Construction work on both projects is expected to begin in September and should take around 15 months for Dill and around 11 months for McDowell. Piedmont region in North Carolina with ideal conditions for solar parks The Piedmont region has special climatic advantages and ideal conditions for the construction of solar parks. The Appalachian Mountains in the west form a protective shield against winter storms and thus ensure a temperate climate, while the coastal region of North Carolina in the east mitigates the weather influences of the Atlantic. Between Charlotte and Greensboro, the Piedmont runs between 200 and 270 meters above sea level. Despite the warm and temperate climate, the region offers an exceptional amount of sunshine with an average of eight hours of sunshine per day. The sun shines more than seven hours a day for two thirds of the year.
